Katalanischer Sprachkurs online (in Englisch) mit Links zu anderen katalanischen Homepages

(E?)(L?) http://www.catalunya-lliure.com/curs/catala.html

HOLA I BENVINGUT!.......HELLO AND WELCOME!

Introduction To These Pages

These pages are meant to be a starting place for people who wish to learn Catalan on the Internet, or those searching for information about the Catalan language. They are primarily aimed at English-speaking people, but speakers of any language will be able to use some of the resources found here such as the Catalan verb tables. At present these pages are under construction and will be changing from time to time.

First of all you should know that what we might call "classes" in Catalan on the Internet at present are almost non-existent. That being said, there are probably thousands of pages on the Internet today that are written in Catalan, contain sound files in Catalan, or contain information about the Catalan language which a person can use to learn Catalan. And, fortunately, the Internet sometimes seems to be changing at the speed of light these days, so what you don't find today may very likely be here tomorrow. As more resources become available, they will included on these pages.

So, you want to learn Catalan...
Catalan is a Romance language spoken by some eleven million people, most of them in Catalonia (an autonomous region currently in Spain), but also in Valencia, the Balearic Islands, the country of Andorra - where it is the only official language - the old French province of Roussillon and, curiously, in the town of l'Alguer (Alghero), on the Italian island of Sardinia. It is a beautiful language with a strong literary and cultural history. Linguistically, it is related most closely to Occitan, a language spoken in the south of France, although it is also shares many similarities with Spanish and French, and the other Romance languages.
